Disconnected-Brief & Visualisation Task 2 & 3
Disconnected
There will be a tracking pan shot of Jazz Morley walking alongside her brother and there is a close up of them looking at each other.
The Location is by Stonehenge, the reason why i have chosen this location because it has a lovely back drop to the sunset coming down.
After the close up of them looking at each other it will cross fade to when they was 8years old which they are being filmed on an old film camera. Im basically trying to do a timeline of their whole life together till the point he leaves for Afghanistan. the scene cuts back to them and their family having their last christmas dinner and there is a pan L to R shot of her grabbing everyones hand as they pray for a wonderful year and to wish her brother good luck.
The shot cuts to the brother laughing and smiling as he gets his family photos done for christmas and there is a slow motion shot of the whole family laughing and having a great time but the the opacity reduces to 50% and through the video another video will be overlaid through so you can see the brother and Jazz Morley which gives a nice affect.
The ending scene would finish with Jazz Morley playing her piano in the front room singing the song with her whole family watching her and quick shots to every memeber of the family with a crossfade and pull to focus shots of her Jazz using the piano and her brother walking to the plane waving goodbye to his family which an extreme shot of Jazz's tearing running down her cheek,

Assignment 2: Task 1 - The Initial Listen
For this task i had to listen to a track from Jazz Morley called Disconnected and the song is basically about her brother who is in the RAF and she wrote it before he left for Afghanistan.
The song is played on the piano and starts off very slow and has a lot of pauses but then builds up to a lovely settled tone, you can really feel the emotion between her and her brother because he is leaving for Afghanistan and she is feeling disconnected from him.
If i had to choose an artist that Jazz Morley could be compared to i would choose Whitney Houston because her vocals are so raw and you can really feel the emotion going through her vocals and this reflects to whitney because in her songs aswell she sings about her husband and by listening to her voice its so passionate and you can hear and feel the emotion.
They are both great vocalists.
if i had to choose a genre for Jazz Morley it would be soul music.
In this song she sings "Please can we be children before you fly away" it means that she wants to play like children before he leaves, she wants to have fun and remember the best times in there childhood.

The Street
The Street
The Street is a British television drama series created by Jimmy McGovern and produced by Granada Television for the BBC The Street won both the British Academy Television Award for Best Drama Series and RTS Television Award for Drama Series twice, in 2007 and 2008. The programme is shown in the even about 6:15pm and finishes at 7:00pm.The series follows the lives of a mixture of residents of an unnamed street in Manchester.
At the start of the single camera drama you encounter a opening mid shot of a mother and father shouting and cursing at each other in front of their children when they are having breakfast, you cant really understand what they are arguing about but then you hear and see a over shoulder shot of the father shout “ it’s bloody £250 “ and then slams the door and goes to work.
The shot turns into a fast pan as he storms out of the house with a close up handle shot, the mother went to her daughter and gave her a hug to reassure her it’s okay and they went off to school. The scene then cuts into a low mid shot of the mother in the kitchen and hears a hiss and walks to the sink, this shot is hand held because you can see the affect it has and then the tap explodes and water is spraying everywhere and the kitchen becomes a puddle of water but the mother runs out the house and calls over a neighbour for assistance and he fixes it and they look at each other in a sexual way and start kissing…..
The next day there is a long angle shot of father is sitting down in the front room watching football and a focus pull of his daughter eating breakfast and then focuses back on the father before he leaves for work, as he is doing that the shot changes to a wide shot of his neighbour who had the affair with his wife opens his car door and puts his briefcase in the back car and there’s a tracking shot of him walking to the drivers seat and then forgets his paper work and rushes back into his house and there are a lot of quick shots of everyone in the house arguing and you can really see the tension he is feeling and eventually finds them.
There is a mid shot of him walking out of house and another two close ups of him breathing and a extreme close up of him clenching his car keys, He then drives out of his parking space with a tracking shot of him looking at his neighbour as drives past him and there’s a shot of the neighbour looking at him but through a window and out of know where there is a mid-shot of a child who runs in front the car having a close up shot of the full impact of the car hitting her. He slams the breaks on and there is a shot of the neighbour that has seen what has happened and then passes out in the middle of the street in shock but as the girl gets hit there is a mid-shot of the father watching a football team and as she gets hit his football team scores and then there is another shot of the father looking a the window because he thought he herd something outside, the scene keep cutting in-between the driver taking deep breaths as he’s just his hit daughter and a shot of the father looking out the window curiously not knowing its his beloved daughter.
About 8 seconds after the accident has happened most of the neighbours rush out and there is a low mid-shot of some people falling to there needs in tears and there’s tracking / pan shot of someone rushing to get the daughters mother not knowing the person who she is having an affair with has accidently ran her daughter over and once she comes out the camera shots work very well because you can see the connection between the mother and the driver because they have been secretly having an affair but as everyone runs over the driver is in such shock he doesn’t move from his seat, the ambulance gets called and arrives in minutes and then the father rushes out thinking what has happened but then walks closer and looks a his distraught wife who is in front of the car trying to nurse her daughter. The father then runs to the drivers window shouting “Open the fucking door look what you have done fucking get out that’s my daughter!!!”
The Ambulance and Police arrives and the mother walks into the house and looks at the TV and runs back out side cursing at the dad because he should have been looking after the kids instead of watching football, as the girl gets put back in the ambulance there is a shot of the driver being breathalysed and he looks at the mother and she looks at him as she walks into the ambulance trying to nurse her daughter and then the scene finishes with a zoom out shot.

Single-camera setup VS Multi-camera setup
A single camera is employed on the set and each shot to make up a scene is taken individually. Single cameras set up are mainly used for POV shots (Point of View) they are also used in documentaries to create more creativity and more surreal, they are also used for low budget programmes or sitcoms.
A Multi camera setup has 3-5 camera set up in different positions that capture close up , mid and long shots.
The reason why they might film in single camera is because its cheaper or to catch good camera angles and camera movements but also you would see alot more camera effects. where as if you were using a multi-camera it would be more expensive but you would capture most angles and you would see a multi camera-set up in a studio.( Sky Sports News)
The advantages on using a single camera set-up, you have more flexibility you cam literally follow your actor or who ever you are shooting, its much cheaper to have a single camera aswell its also very useful if you are shooting a documentary and you can take you camera everywhere.
The advantages for multi camera set-up are you could catch unexpected emotional scenes, also it would be in chronological order and much easier to edit because it would go in an easy flow.
However the disadvantages on using a single camera set-up are mainly editing, all that footage from one camera is going to take alot of your time where as multi camera set-up is shot with 3-5 cameras. Also you might not able to capture some footage where some emotional parts are happening (unexpected) plus if your shooting a single camera is will very low budgeted. Where as a multi camera set-up would take up much longer because you would have more equipment to carry and set-up.
Also you would have to spend a lot more money because you would have more crew members and much more cameras.
If you were to see a multi-camera scene but used in a single camera programme/ film they would only use that for a scene that would only be shot once so they would want to capture every single angle and movement because if you did that using single camera set-up you would be retaking scene after scene
The best example I know would be from the film; Quantum Of Solace in the first opening scene a car chase erupts and the chase leads them down a tunnel which would be great for a multi-camera set up, catching every single camera angle.
