1. The reason why we use SFX's in TV & Film productions is because we want to make stuff more excitable to watch for example HollyWood films use SFX is car explosions and car crashes to make the scene have a big impact from watching it from the screen, they also use gun shots and fire sounds to make it more intense. TV use SFX to make more sounds realistic for example a Soap programmes might add in a car skids SFX to emphasise the car skidding in motion.
2.Advantages; Cheaper, making something that has no sound to making something special and captures alot of viewers. They add more SFX's make the view feel more in-depth with the film or Tv programme.
3. Disadvantages; knowing that scene has been adding with SFX which makes it unrealistic, it doesnt work in some scenes , sometimes its overused and doesn't seem to work with scenes and your can see some lip-sync erros.
4.
Foley Artist
Foley Artists create foley sound effects. Foley Artists use a variety of objects to create the sounds of footsteps and other incidental noises in a film.

Overall i thought the new retake was much better because we could discuss the areas that needed to be re taken to show how to prevent the problems, we also tried other positions for the mic we we all agreed like an good arms length away because otherwise it would be muffled.
I leraned that using different location you have to alter your sound and camera exposure to a clean shot, when outside it is best to use a microphone cover to provent the wind making a muffeled fuzzy sound through the mic
we had some problems in the toilets because you had people walking in most of the time and we had to stop filming and it was annoying sometimes but we waited and then carried on. also during the filming i liked how we all came up with different locations and spoke upon the issues we could make and then rectify them.
I found this assignment really good and i felt like it was an exciting task.As a group we all sat down and watched the footage and wrote down the scenes where we could retake and show examples of how that shot was rectified.
we worked really well as a group because we has fixed roles and we stuck to them; Aaron- camera man Mitch - sound operator Adam - presenter Melv - presenter .
Retake 1
Inside - class room: We filmed a part of our news story in a class room at college. This went very well and we didn't experience any problems with filming in this location. The sound came out perfect and there was no visual problems with it either.Retake 2
Outside - car park: For our news story we also filmed in a car park for the outside shots. We changed the position of the mic which no wind could make it muffled and we also change the position of the camera because last time we filmed it and the tripod wasnt in shot where as before it was.
Retake 3
Noisy - toilet: We also filmed in the college toilets for our news story. we positioned the mic closer to the presenters and we discovered that the lights made a quite humming sound but we managed to make the humming sound less obvious, we positioned the mic more lower so it couldnt pick up the sound and we also turned our phones off.
